Monochromatic Color Scheme

A Monochromatic color scheme is composed of tints, shades and tones of one singular hue or color.  An example of a monochromatic color scheme is the below portrait, by Australian street and graffiti artist, Guido Van Helten.

This work was painted on location at the 2012 Harvest Music Festival festival in Australia.  In this artwork, Van Helten used tints and shades of red to create an artwork, utilizing spray paint.

For more of Guido Van Helten's work check out his website here:

Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY
Artist, educator and former colleague of mine, Leslie Steiger (http://lesliesteiger.com/Home.html), snapped the above image this past weekend in the Red Hook neighborhood section Brooklyn, NY.  I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with you guys!  The artist was incredibly clever in their use of objects to create graphic and illustrative lettering.  Can you make out what the graffiti says?  Consider all the shapes and objects when trying to determine the letters.  Enjoy!
